About

Geoff's love of photography started as a teenager when the family bathroom would often be deployed as a darkroom. As a mature student, he studied for a degree in Photography, graduating with first class honours, then a Masters in Art and Design at the University of Derby. He is an Associate of The Royal Photographic Society and the British Institute of Professional Photography and has exhibited nationally.

From 2005 until 2013 Geoff worked as a tutor in photography and digital art with the Open College of the Arts, becoming a senior tutor and an assessor for University accreditation from 2007.

He has also been involved with a number of publications. The Living Edge was a project with The National Trust, published in 2011. Then, working with editor Margaret Wilson, Nearest Earthly Place to Paradise was published by Merlin Unwin Books in 2013. During 2016/17, a collaboration with artist Mary Napper-White and the Landscape Partnership Scheme resulted in the Vanishing Buildings exhibition and book.

Personal work is grounded in the landscape. The flower studies in Age and Beauty were a diversion that continues to inform current work. Some of the most recent pictures may be seen in the Self-Isolation gallery.
