Mindfulness and Meditation

An introduction to mindfulness, meditation and how this links to photography - a workshop by Andrew Scriven held at Amersham Studios November 2016.

Ten participants met together at the workshop. Andrew's presentations were interspersed with short meditations and photography.

Two 15 minute exercises took most of us outside to enjoy the autumn light. The images below were captured within a few metres of the studio:
1. Photographing colour and texture, taking attention away from form and composition.
2. Altering our perceptions of reality, using slow shutter speeds and camera movement to blur the lines of division.

After lunch, a minibus took the group a short distance to Bricky Pond Common. The 60 minutes spent there disappeared in a flash - seeing and being beauty.
